Defining the Traits of Asperger’s

This is a series of posts I wrote about the traits of Asperger’s syndrome as defined in the DSM-IV, a diagnostic manual for mental disorders widely used in the United States. Each post includes some thoughts about how I see (or don’t see) that trait in my own personality.

Intro — What a syndrome is, and what diagnostic criteria are for.

Social Skills — Eye contact, making friends, and expressing emotions.

Obsessiveness — Intense, specific interests, rituals, and stimming.

Impairment — Common struggles for Aspies.

Other classifications — More categorization stuff.
